David Bowie was a visionary musician, actor, and artist. Born David Jones in 1947 in London, he began playing piano, ukulele, and guitar at a young age, though his voice was considered “adequate” by his choir teacher. He formed his first band in the '60s and changed his name to David Bowie to avoid confusion with Davy Jones (lead singer of The Monkees). Bowie dabbled in different musical styles and art forms including painting, playwriting, and mime.
Ziggy Stardust’s full name is The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Bowie created an alter ego in order to help create a rock opera for his fifth studio album. Creating a character freed Bowie to conceptually travel beyond the limits of the earth. The album art is a photograph by Brian Ward. It was taken during a frigged night in January 1972. Bowie stated that the influence for the album art was inspired by Clockwork Orange and the one mascaraed eyelash.
This tank top features a regular fit, double-needle stitching neck and armholes, with a double-needle bottom hem. Solid colors are made from 100% jersey, while Athletic Heather is made from 90% cotton and 10 % polyester blend. Care Instructions: Machine wash, do not bleach or wring.
